How long does it take for the carpet to dry?

Drying times depend on the time of year or the season. On very warm days an average carpet can dry in as little as 4 hours. On cold days that same carpet would take up to a full day to dry. On an average temperature day that same carpet would take about 8 hours to dry. After cleaning, most of the moisture evaporates during the first 3 to 4 hours. After that time there may be areas that remain slightly damp longer than other areas of the carpet.

On cold days it’s important to keep the temperature on the inside at least 70 degrees. If it’s below that temperature, it will take the carpet a lot longer to dry and they can start to have an odor. This typically will go away after the carpet dries completely. Also, on a cold day it’s a good idea to have at least two windows open just a crack to allow moisture to escape into the outside air. If the inside air gets saturated, drying stops.

The height of the carpet pile and the density can also affect the drying time. Most of the time, a low-pile, commercial carpet will dry in a few hours. On the other hand, a plush high-density carpet will take up to a day to fully dry.

How long does it take for upholstery to dry?

Most furniture with fabrics of manmade fibers will be dry in about 3 to 4 hours. Furniture with fabrics made of natural fibers like wool or cotton can take up to half a day to dry. The reason for that is they tend to soak up more moisture than manmade fibers

How long will it take?

Most jobs will last from as little as an hour to 2 hours. On average most jobs take about 1.5 hours. Occasionally on a large 2-story house with carpet in most rooms will take about 3 to 4 hours.

What method do you use?

We use truck mounted hot water extraction cleaning system or steam cleaning. In addition to that, we use the Rotovac 360i Rotary Extraction tool. Most other carpet cleaning companies use a manual wand to clean carpets. The Rotovac 360i cleans better because it hits all side of the carpet fibers, not just forward and back like on a manual wand does.
What cleaning products do you use?
We use Axiom detergent and pre-spray. Axiom is a line of green cleaners that meets or exceeds the EPA’s Designed for the Environment program. They are biodegradable, phosphate-free, butyl-free, and VOC-compliant. It utilizes the latest in polymer technology and provides maximum cleaning performance

Do you move furniture?

This depends on the room. In bedrooms, we typically go around the furniture. In other areas like the family room and living room, we will move sofas, love seats, and chairs. With those areas, we typically ask the client to move out small things like coffee tables and end tables so that give us room to move those pieces around. We will not move things like cabinets, entertainment centers, etc.
If you’re some who doesn’t want to move furniture at all and rather have someone else do it, we offer furniture moving with our “Ultimate Platinum” and “Gold ‘Healthy Home’ V.I.P. Maintenance Plan”. We move the small stuff and clear as much as we can from the floor.

Do your cleaning products have any scent?

Yes, but nothing that smells perfumed. Axiom has a light fresh scent like on a spring morning.  For those wishing to have a fragrance-free option, we can use a line of detergents and pre-sprays that are fragrance-free at an additional cost.
